Ronald Kitson

Ronald C Kitson, age 88, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2025. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Velma Kitson, and his sister, Jean Fox. 

Ron is survived by his former wife and good friend, Erika Kitson; children, Ralph (Debbie) Kitson and Connie (Doug) Cohara; grandchildren, Jennifer (Gerry), Jessica, Amy, and Kevin; and great-granddaughter, Sierra. Ron is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Richardson and Audrey Kitson. 

Ron enjoyed playing golf, listening to music, singing, writing songs, and watching baseball. He wrote several country songs, including Happy Birthday (recorded by Loretta Lynn in 1964). Ron served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1954 until 1959 as a communications technician. He began broadcasting on Canadian forces radio in Germany in 1957. Ron was self-employed as owner/manager of Mek-Elek of Ohio servicing professional power tools and equipment until retiring in 2005.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
