Robert Milchak, 86, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026. He was born on January 8, 1940, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Robert was the beloved husband of Elaine (née Balmuta) Milchak. They were married on May 18, 1963, and shared 63 years of love, devotion, and partnership together.
Robert retired from Ford Motor Company in 2000 after a long career as a millwright. He was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skill, and ability to repair almost anything. Family, friends, and neighbors often turned to him whenever something needed to be fixed, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Family was the center of Robert’s life. He loved spending time with those he loved most, whether sharing stories, helping with a project, or simply enjoying each other’s company. He enjoyed fishing, attending garage sales, and returning to his hometown of Johnstown. One of his favorite places was Coney Island Hot Dogs, where many fond memories were made with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (née Balmuta) Milchak; his son, David (Kathy) Milchak; daughters-in-law, Angela Milchak and Christine Milchak; sister, Delores “Dolly”; grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Joy, Robert, and MaryBeth; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Milchak Jr. and Daniel Milchak, and by his sister, Geraldine.
Robert will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, willingness to help others, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the people he loved, the lessons he taught, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at Harvest Time Assembly of God, 1790 W. 130th St., Brunswick, on Wednesday, June 24th at 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Robert’s memory by helping someone in need, lending a hand to a neighbor, or performing an act of kindness for another person—something Robert did throughout his life.”
