Ann Minick

Ann Minick of Valley City passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Cleveland. She was born in Phillipsburg, PA and resided in Valley City for 52 years. Ann served during World War II with the U. S. Naval Reserves in Washington D.C. as a Petty Officer First Class. She later worked as a teacher and met her husband while both were teaching at West Chester High School.  Ann is survived by her loving husband James of 60 years; sons, Greg (Jayne) Minick of Sheffield Lake, Kenneth (Margaret Bridge) Minick of Chatham, and Michael Minick of Valley City; daughter Deborah Smith of Avon; seven grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Helen (Steve) Gentile; and brother Charles (Sally) Yatsko.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Emil Yatsko, Robert Pavlik, and William Yatsko.  The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church of Valley City, 6936 Center Road, Valley City on Sunday from 3-5pm with the funeral service beginning at 5pm.
