Mark Buffington was born June 11, 1950, in Findlay, Ohio, to Glenn and Joan Buffington. He passed away from dementia on Tuesday December 23, 2025, at the Thomas Perciak Family Residential Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio, after a life marked by kindness, generosity, and deep loyalty to family and friends.
Mark was raised in Findlay, Ohio, and later made his home in Seven Hills, Ohio. A proud graduate of The Ohio State University in 1972, he built a successful career as a chemical engineer, approaching his work with dedication, intelligence, and integrity.
A lifelong lover of Cleveland, Ohio, Mark was a devoted fan of Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns and Rock and Roll, passions that brought him joy and connection throughout his life. He also loved to golf, boat, and fish, finding happiness in time spent outdoors with others.
As a father, Mark adored his daughter and delighted in spoiling her, a role he embraced with pride and love. He was a silly grandfather and cherished every moment with his grandson.
Mark was known for his infectious and unforgettable laugh. He was kind, generous, and a best friend to many, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His warmth, joviality, and sincerity will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Marie Buffington; his son-in-law, Steve Yanke; his beloved grandson, Logan Bradford Buffington-Yanke; and his former wife, Christina Buffington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Glenn and his brother, Brad Buffington.

Mark’s legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
