Betty Lou Kreeger (nee Smith), age 101, died December 28, 2022 at Kemper House, Highland Heights, Ohio. Betty was born November 28, 1921 in Elyria, Ohio to Gertrude and Arthur Smith. She was married to Norman George Kreeger for 49 years before his death in 1991.
Betty lived in Wickliffe for 63 years, loved to golf until age 95, and enjoyed crafting and sewing. She was a member of Shoregate United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and a former member of Al Sirat Caldron No. 11 of Cleveland.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Jean (James) Cain; grandchildren, Brandon Cain and Morgan (Bryan) Besozzi; great-grandchildren, Austin and Anthony Besozzi; niece, Karen Novick; and nephews, Leslie Kreeger, Lowell Kreeger, Dennis Cowley, Gary Cowley and David Cowley.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Lois Jean Giesel and Dayton Wallace Smith; and her daughter, Carol Ellen Kreeger Sheldon.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, with a service at 12:00 at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby. Refreshments will follow.
