Joan Marie (Strange) Berry passed away on August 11, 2026, leaving behind a family filled with generations of people who loved her and a lifetime of memories they will continue to carry with them.

Joan married Felix “Sonny” Berry on August 26, 1962, beginning a life together filled with family, memories, and many years of shared experiences.

Those who knew Joan will remember the things that made her uniquely her. She loved to shop and enjoyed ceramics and coloring books. She looked forward to trips to Kentucky to visit family and never passed up the opportunity to browse a good flea market.

The holidays were especially fun with Joan around. She loved her holiday sweatshirts and the matching jewelry that went with them, bringing her own festive touch to every season and celebration.

Some of the best memories, however, were made during ordinary evenings. Friday and Saturday nights meant card games and pizza—time spent together laughing, talking, playing cards, and simply enjoying one another's company. They were the kinds of traditions that may have seemed small at the time but have become treasured memories.

She was the proud mother of four sons: Phil (Wendy, deceased), Pat (Sheila), Troy (Dave), and Bryan (Susan).

Joan's family continued to grow through the years, and she was blessed with seven grandchildren: Jacob (Stephanie), Joanne (Nick), Nicole (John), Adam (Marie), Danielle (Craig), Lauren (Jordan), and Ryan (Jordan).

She was also the proud great-grandmother of Colby, Carson, Teagan, Kallen, Cameron, Christian, Gavin, and Clara.

Joan is also survived by her siblings, Wally, Donna (Elton), David (Marge, deceased), Dale (Laura), Connie (Joe), and Roy (Pam), as well as a large extended family that includes many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and cousins.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean Strange; her sister, Marguarite; her daughter-in-law, Wendy; and her sisters-in-law, Karen and Marge..

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by the many people whose lives were made brighter simply because she was part of them.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22 at Park Heights Baptist Church, 16189 Sheldon Road, Middleburg Heights, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, with a service following at 2:00 pm.
