On Weds., June 24, 2026, James Smith, age 83, passed away.

James was born on August 29, 1942, in Punxsutawney, PA. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a Telecommunications Specialist. Jim then resided in Brunswick for 55 years and worked for Bell, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. Jim loved gardening, cutting grass, westerns, and spending time with his family: wife, three children and four grandchildren. He loved traveling with his spouse, Norene.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Norene, his father, Joseph Smith, and mother, Catherine (Schrock), his son, Mark Smith, his grandson, Kenneth Dalgleish, his brothers Bob and Greg Smith, sister-in-law Mickey Smith and two brother-in-law's, Michael Trunzo and Bob Kopczynski.

He is survived by his children Darlene (Michael) Bland and Marlene Dagleish, and Jim’s three grandchildren, Aaron (Annie) Brown, Michael (Sarah) Bland and Andrew Dagleish. He is also survived by his sisters and brother: Ruth (Smith) and Sirous Saghatoleslami, Janet (Smith) and Tom Kolson, Julianne (Smith) and Philip Brandenberg, Kathy (Smith) Kopczynski, John Smith and Jenny. Also he was loved by his great grandchildren Levi Bland and Aiden Brown and many loved nieces and nephews.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jim’s name to St. Ambrose Catholic Church (929 Pearl Rd. in Brunswick).

James family will hold graveside funeral service on Tuesday, June 30 at 1 pm at Eastlawn Memory Gardens (2869 Grafton Rd. in Brunswick).
