James A Oakman

James A. Oakman, age 79, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Brunswick Pointe in Brunswick, OH. He was born on October 8, 1946 in Friedens, PA., the son of James R. and Evelyn D. (Fitzgerald) Oakman. Jim was a resident of Madison for the majority of his life before moving to Brunswick.

Jim was a talented autobody technician, working for many area bodyshops throughout his career. In Jim’s younger years he was involved in drag racing at Thompson Drag Raceway Park. He also enjoyed camping, boating, and his beloved Corvettes.

He is survived by his siblings, Carolyn (Jim Forbes) Robison of Thompson, Robert (Toni) Oakman of Ashtabula, and Joanne Powell of Athens.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Connie Hupertz and Susan Oakman-Andrews.
