Fred C. Cousino, age 82, passed away Saturday, August 10 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Fred was an avid collector of model trains, insulators and stamps, and was known to have a sarcastic sense of humor. He dedicated many years of his life to teaching, along with a career in sales. His love for astronomy was demonstrated by directing the Cleveland Planetarium for several years. Fred cherished traveling with his family, and actively participated in both Indian Guides and Princesses with all of his children. He enjoyed juke box conventions, amateur radio, and antiquing. He loved playing cards, solving puzzles, and attending various events involving his children and grandchildren. Fred possessed so much knowledge that covered a number of subjects, especially mathematics and engineering. He was someone that people went to for answers, and his family affectionately referred to him as a “Walking Encyclopedia”.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda; children, Kevin (Cat), Ryan (Jenna), Jay (Courtney) and Nikki (Andy); grandchildren, Alina, Alec, Ava Gene, Elise, Logan, McKenna, Carson, Brycen, and Reagan; his beloved dog, Karli; and many cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Jane Cousino.
