Betty J (Dawes)Butler, born on July 30, 1961, a strong-minded and vibrant soul, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable adventures.
Betty lived life on her own terms and brought a distinct energy to everything she did. She had a passion for the thrill of the parks, spending many joyful days visiting Geauga Lake and Kennywood. An avid shopper, she loved the excitement of a good shopping trip, but perhaps her most unique adventure was her deep interest in the unknown, finding great joy and curiosity in paranormal investigations.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Mildred Dawes, and her siblings, Jack Dawes, James T. Dawes, William C. Dawes, and Patty J. Balawender.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her surviving family. She is survived by her siblings, Jean L. Adams, Roberta L. Parsons, Nancy A. Laubert, Peggy L. Menini, and Michael J. Dawes. She also leaves behind her devoted sons, Ralph Butler (Nyssa Crabill) and Brian Butler (Callie Hanus); her cherished grandchildren, Chelsey Butler and Rocky Carpenter; and her precious great-grandchild, Harper. Her fierce spirit lives on in each of them.
